Start here, because this is what stings

Room count is the wrong unit to buy software in

Most hotel technology is sold by the room, which means the bill grows every time you open a floor and the price you were quoted stops being the price you pay. Our published pricing counts locations. Nothing else.

What the price is counted in
VoqadoWiFiLocations. One property is one location, whether it has 20 rooms or 200
The per room modelRooms, beds, or concurrent devices, so occupancy changes the invoice
The free tier
VoqadoWiFiStarter, free forever: 1 location, 25 guest logins a month, no card
The per room modelA timed trial, usually with a card taken at signup
Adding a second property
VoqadoWiFiGrowth is $49 a month covering 3 locations, about $16 a property if you use all three
The per room modelA second contract, or a second line on the same invoice
Going over the allowance
VoqadoWiFiNo overage charges on any VoqadoWiFi plan. The limit is a ceiling, not a bill
The per room modelOverage billed after a busy season, when you can least argue with it

The right hand column describes a pricing model, not a named competitor, and we are not going to invent their numbers for you. Every figure in the left hand column comes from our own published pricing, and the $16 is simply $49 divided by three properties.

One stay, four moments

Where a hotel loses the guest it just hosted

A restaurant loses a customer for an evening. A hotel loses one for a night, a week, and then a lifetime of trips to the same city. The gap is always the same: nobody wrote anything down.

Check in

The guest asks for the WiFi code before they ask where the lift is. That is the single most reliable moment of attention a hotel gets, and in most properties it is spent on a password written on a card.

On the free plan

During the stay

Two nights, maybe five, every device in the room on your network. The guest is inside your building, deciding whether to eat in the restaurant or walk into town, with no message from you either way.

On the free plan

Check out

They leave at eleven. If the stay was good, the review they might have written gets written on the booking site instead, where it helps the booking site.

Capture on free, automation on Growth

After the stay

The next trip to your city is booked somewhere else, because the only party who wrote to them was the platform that took the commission on the last one.

Automation on Growth

The booking platform owns the guest, you own the bed

A guest who arrives through an online travel agent arrives with a masked email address. You host them, feed them, clean up after them, and you finish the stay without a way to contact the person who slept in your room. The portal is one of the few moments where the guest can choose to give you that address directly.

A returning guest is a stranger at the desk

Third stay this year, same room type, same preference for a quiet floor, and reception meets them as if it were the first time. Guest data is not surveillance here. It is the basic courtesy that a small hotel used to manage with a memory and a ledger, and that a busy one now cannot.

Length of stay is your best segment and you cannot use it

A one night business guest and a family on a five night holiday want different things from you: the first wants breakfast timing, the second is a candidate for the spa, the restaurant and a late checkout. Without a guest record, both receive the same nothing.

Bad WiFi becomes a review before it becomes a ticket

Guests almost never tell the desk that the signal on the third floor is weak. They tell the internet, on the way home, in public. A portal at least puts your name and a way to reach you between the guest and the router.

The question every hotelier asks third

Does it talk to the PMS? Not out of the box, no.

There is no turnkey property management system connector today. Guests can sync to a Mailchimp audience on the Growth plan. For anything further, pushing arrivals into a PMS or a CRM, outbound webhooks fire on portal and campaign events, and Enterprise adds direct API access for a team willing to build against it.

If your requirement is a supported, named integration with the system that runs your front desk, then this is not the product for you yet, and the free plan will not change that. We would rather you read that sentence now than hear it on an onboarding call.

The free plan, in full

What the Starter plan actually covers

Copied from our published pricing with nothing rounded in our favour. Starter is free forever, and no part of it switches off on a date.

25 guest logins every month

The counter resets monthly and never expires. There are no overage charges on any VoqadoWiFi plan, so the limit is a ceiling, not a bill.

1 location

One property. A group with a second or third hotel needs Growth, which covers 3 locations for one flat price rather than a fee per site.

A branded captive portal

Your identity rather than ours on the screen a guest meets at check in. Custom branding is included on the free plan.

Email capture with GDPR consent

A name, an email address, and a consent box that starts unticked. Getting online and agreeing to hear from you stay separate, and every consent is timestamped.

CSV export of the guest list

The addresses your guests give you directly are yours. Export them at any time and take them to whichever email tool the group already pays for.

Basic analytics and email support

A basic analytics dashboard, and email support from the people who build the product rather than a ticket queue.

Do this arithmetic before you plan around 25 logins

A login is a device, not a booking. A couple travelling with a phone each and a tablet is three logins from one room. Take your own arrivals for a normal week, multiply by the devices a typical party carries, and you will see how quickly a 25 login allowance is spent.

That is the correct way to read Starter for a hotel: a live pilot on one property, long enough to see your real consent rate and how the portal behaves on a tired arrival at midnight, before anything is budgeted. Growth carries 3,000 logins a month, which is 120 times the Starter allowance, for the point where the pilot has answered its question.

Every limit here matches our published pricing. If the two ever disagree, trust the pricing page. The general free plan explainer lives on the free plan page.

Setup

Three steps, on the hardware you already own

VoqadoWiFi supports two controller platforms, TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi, and sits in front of the access points already mounted in your corridors. No floor goes offline and no contractor comes back.

1

Point the controller in the comms cupboard at the portal

VoqadoWiFi is an external captive portal. Your TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti UniFi controller points at it and every access point in the corridors keeps doing exactly what it does now. No hardware to buy, no cabling, and nothing that requires a floor to be taken offline. If the install was inherited from a contractor who has since disappeared, the compatibility checker settles it in about a minute.

Check my controller
2

Brand the splash screen and write the consent line

Logo, colours, and the sentence a guest reads before ticking the box. For a hotel this line matters more than most: say plainly whether you will write once before a return season or once a week, and then keep to it. Guests forgive a hotel that says what it will send.

3

Guests connect on arrival and the record exists

The guest joins the network from their own phone and chooses whether to hear from you. Reception is not asking anyone for an email address, nothing is typed at the desk, and the first 25 logins each month land on the free plan.

The honest part

When a property should move to Growth

A free plan that quietly behaves like the paid plan is a trial with better manners. Here is what Starter leaves out, and the point at which a working hotel should stop using it.

Not on Starter

These sit on Growth at $49 a month.

  • AI Guest Host with memory and greeting
  • Post visit email on an automatic two hour delay
  • Google Review automation
  • Birthday campaigns and re-engagement flows for past guests
  • Native TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi integration
  • Mailchimp sync
  • Real time dashboard, guest profiles and history, location comparison
  • Priority support

White label portal with no Voqado branding, and API access, are Enterprise features. For a group with more than three properties, Enterprise is the tier that carries unlimited locations.

Move when one of these is true

Growth, $49 a month

  • Your arrivals fill 25 logins in the first days of the month. Growth carries 3,000 logins a month, which is the tier built for a property running at occupancy.
  • You have a second or third property. Growth covers 3 locations inside one flat $49, so the second hotel does not double the bill.
  • You want the post stay email and the review request to send themselves rather than sitting on a duty manager who is already stretched.
  • You want a real time dashboard and guest profiles with history, so a returning guest is visible as a returning guest.

Until one of those is true, stay on Starter. Nothing expires to push you across, there are no overage charges on any plan, and the guest list stays exportable whichever tier you sit on.

Compare Starter and Growth
Questions

Free hotel guest WiFi, answered

No. Our published pricing counts locations, not rooms, not beds, and not access points. Starter is free forever on 1 location. Growth is $49 a month covering 3 locations in one flat price, which is about $16 a property a month if you use all three. A forty room hotel and a hundred and forty room hotel sit on the same line of the same price list.

More than 25, in almost every case, and the reason is devices rather than people. A couple arriving with two phones and a tablet is three logins from one booking. Work the arithmetic on your own arrivals before you plan around the free plan: Starter is a pilot on one property, not a system for a full occupancy month, and Growth carries 3,000 logins a month for properties past that point.

There is no turnkey PMS connector today, and we would rather say that here than let you discover it during onboarding. Guests can sync to a Mailchimp audience on the Growth plan, outbound webhooks fire on portal and campaign events for anything you want to build yourself, and Enterprise adds direct API access. If your requirement is a supported, out of the box integration with a named property management system, we are not that product yet.

Starter is 1 location per account, so the honest answer is that two properties belong on Growth, where 3 locations sit inside one flat $49 a month. Running parallel free accounts also splits your guest list in two, which defeats the point of collecting it. Use the free plan to prove the mechanic at your busiest property, then move the group across together.

They are logins like any other. A wedding, a conference or a function day tends to put a large number of one time visitors on the network in a single afternoon, which is exactly the scenario that empties a 25 login allowance in one sitting. It is also, for a hotel that sells events, the most valuable list in the building, so plan the tier around your function calendar rather than your room count.

That is your policy decision, not ours. The portal can require a login for access or let a guest through without capture. In a hotel the balance is different from a cafe: the guest has already paid for the room and expects the internet to work, so a hard gate on a tired arrival at midnight is a real risk to your welcome. Many properties choose the softer route and accept a lower capture rate for it.

A TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti UniFi controller. Those are the two platforms VoqadoWiFi supports, and both are common in hotels of the size this plan suits. If your property runs Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, or a managed service from your ISP, the portal cannot authorise your guests today and you should look elsewhere rather than at our free plan.

Tonight's arrivals will ask for the WiFi

They ask before they ask about breakfast. Starter is free forever on 1 property and 25 guest logins a month, so you can find out what your own guests do with that moment without a card, a call, or a per room quote.

Works with TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi controllers.
