Footfall you can count, customers you cannot name
A shop measures the top of this funnel obsessively and the bottom of it barely at all. The bars below are deliberately unlabelled by percentage, because your shop is not an average and we are not going to invent a figure for it.
The street. You pay rent for this and can do nothing with it.
Your footfall counter sees a number go up. That is the entire extent of what it tells you.
The largest group in most shops, and the one you have no way of ever speaking to again.
A receipt, a card payment, and a name only if they happened to be on a loyalty scheme.
The only line on this chart that compounds. Guest WiFi is one of the few ways a physical shop can widen it.
A first visit is worth what the second one is
A shop with no way to contact a browser has to buy that person back through the window, through rent, or through advertising, every single time. A consented list is the only audience a shop reaches without paying again.
Your quiet Tuesday needs an audience, not a poster
A sale rail, a new delivery, a late opening. These need to reach people who have already stood in your shop, and social platforms will show your post to whichever fraction of your own followers they feel like.
The browser is the whole opportunity
Loyalty schemes only ever capture people who reached the till. Guest WiFi is one of the few mechanics that can reach the larger group who looked, liked it, and walked out with nothing.
Three steps, on the hardware you already own
Nothing gets installed on the shop floor and nothing gets bought. VoqadoWiFi supports two controller platforms, TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi, and runs as the portal in front of them.
Point the access point in the shop at the portal
VoqadoWiFi is an external captive portal. Your TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti UniFi controller points at it, and the access point above the till or behind the fitting rooms keeps doing exactly what it does now. There is nothing to buy and nothing to install on the shop floor. The compatibility checker will tell you in about a minute whether the kit you inherited qualifies.
Check my hardwareBrand the splash screen and make the offer worth it
Logo, colours, and the line a shopper reads before ticking the consent box. In retail this is a trade, and everyone knows it. Say what you will send, whether that is first look at a sale or a note when a size comes back in, and a browser has an actual reason to hand over an address.
Shoppers connect, and browsers become contactable
Someone on your shop floor joins the network to check a price or a review, sees your portal, and chooses whether to hear from you. Nobody at the till has to ask for an email address at the exact moment a customer wants to leave. The first 25 logins each month land on the free plan.
What the Starter plan actually covers
Taken straight from our published pricing. Starter is free forever, there is no card at signup, and no part of it stops working on a date.
25 guest logins every month
The counter resets monthly and never expires. There are no overage charges on any VoqadoWiFi plan, so the limit is a ceiling rather than a bill.
1 location
One shop. A second branch, or a shop and a concession, needs Growth, which covers 3 locations for one flat price.
A branded captive portal
Your shop, your colours, your offer, on the phone a browser is already holding while they stand in front of the rail. Custom branding is on the free plan.
Email capture with GDPR consent
A name, an email address, and a consent box that starts unticked. Access to the network and permission to market stay separate, and every consent is timestamped.
CSV export of your list
The shoppers you collect are yours. Export the file at any time and take it to whichever email tool you already use, or take it away entirely.
Basic analytics and email support
A basic analytics dashboard to watch the list build, and email support from the people who build the product.
Read 25 logins as a sample, not a database
Twenty five logins a month works out at fewer than one a day. No shop is going to build a mailing list worth mailing at that rate, and we are not going to suggest otherwise.
What twenty five logins does buy you is the answer to the only question that matters before you spend anything: will the people in my shop actually connect and consent? Run it for a month on a normal trading pattern. If nobody joins, you have learned that for free and you owe us nothing. If the twenty five fill in the first week, you have your answer too, and Growth carries 3,000 logins a month, which is 120 times the Starter allowance.
Every limit here matches our published pricing. If the two ever disagree, trust the pricing page. The general free plan explainer lives on the free plan page.
Four things retail WiFi marketing is not
Retail technology is sold with more imagination than most, so here are the limits in writing, before you spend an evening on setup rather than after.
It does not see the basket
VoqadoWiFi does not connect to your till or your ecommerce platform, so it cannot tell you what a shopper bought, what they spent, or whether an email led to a sale in store. If you want the WiFi list joined to transaction data, you would export the CSV and do that join in whatever system holds your sales.
It does not follow anyone around the shop
This is a captive portal, not a footfall analytics or in store location product. It does not map dwell time by aisle, count how long somebody stood at the sale rail, or track a device that never joins the network. What it records is what a shopper deliberately typed and consented to.
It only sees shoppers who join the WiFi
Plenty of people will walk your shop on mobile data and never connect at all. Your captured list will always be a subset of your footfall, and any vendor who implies otherwise is selling you a number rather than a tool.
It cannot make an offer worth opening
The software delivers a message. Whether that message earns a second visit is your merchandising, your pricing and your writing. We can promise the ask happens. We cannot promise it works, and a page that told you otherwise would be lying.
When a shop should stop using the free plan
A free plan that quietly behaves like the paid plan is a trial with better manners. Here is what Starter leaves out, and the trigger for moving.
Not on Starter
These sit on Growth at $49 a month.
- AI Guest Host with memory and greeting
- Post visit email on an automatic two hour delay
- Google Review automation
- Birthday campaigns and re-engagement flows for lapsed shoppers
- Native TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi integration
- Mailchimp sync
- Real time dashboard, guest profiles and history, location comparison
- Priority support
White label portal with no Voqado branding, and API access, are Enterprise features. A chain past three shops belongs on Enterprise, which carries unlimited locations.
Growth, $49 a month
- The 25 logins filled and the list was still growing. Growth carries 3,000 a month, which is the difference between a sample and something you can actually mail.
- You have a second or third shop. Growth covers 3 locations in one flat $49, and adds location comparison so you can see which branch is building a list and which is not.
- You want the review request and the win back email to send themselves rather than waiting for a quiet afternoon that never comes.
- You want the list in Mailchimp automatically rather than exporting a CSV every few weeks.
Until then, stay where you are. Nothing on Starter expires to push you across, there are no overage charges on any plan, and the list you build stays exportable either way.
Compare Starter and GrowthFree retail WiFi marketing, answered
Today's browsers are already on their phones
They are standing in your shop comparing a price. Starter is free forever on 1 store and 25 guest logins a month, which is enough to find out whether your customers will connect at all before you budget a penny for it.
Works with TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi controllers.
