Plan for AI / Note 42

Brief a proposed MCP WiFi integration

Write the questions an implementer must answer before connecting an agent to a guest WiFi workflow.

First, the useful part

Start with the decision.

An MCP integration brief should describe tools, permissions and observable behavior. A protocol label alone does not establish product support or safe operation. This is a requirements template for evaluation, not installation instructions or confirmation of an available VoqadoWiFi server.

Put it into practice

Three moves to make.

  1. Define each tool

Name the proposed task, its input and its output. Prefer a narrow tool description over a broad instruction to manage the entire venue.

  2. Describe authority

Specify who authorizes access, which venue the tool can address and whether it can only read or can also write. Ask the implementer to explain enforcement, not just document intent.

  3. Plan failure behavior

Request clear error outcomes, logging and a way to stop access. Specify what should happen when the venue identifier is missing, the result is ambiguous or the service is unavailable.

An illustrative example

What it could look like.

A proposed “summarize approved venue metrics” tool should return defined measures for one authorized venue and period. It should not silently expose other locations or turn a reporting request into a campaign send.

Before the next move

The final check.

Require a demonstrated, documented endpoint and an authorization review before treating the proposal as a working integration.

The detail that matters

Do not publish guessed endpoint URLs or credentials in an integration guide.

Can I connect an agent from this page?

No. This page is a planning brief. Use the current product facts and obtain verified integration details before connecting any system.
