How big could your guest list get from your WiFi?

Enter your visitors and days open, then set two assumptions of your own: how many visitors log in, and how many of them are already on your list. The result updates as you type, the formula is shown, and nothing leaves your browser unless you ask for a copy by email.

Your venue

Everyone through the door, not only WiFi users. A till count or a door count works.

1 to 7.

The 30% default is a starting assumption for you to change, not a VoqadoWiFi measurement. If you know your WiFi logins and visitors for the same week, divide one by the other.

Regulars who logged in before do not add a new contact. The 25% default is an assumption, not a measurement.

Your guest list

About 2,632 guests after 3 months, 5,265 after 6 months and 10,530 after 12 months.

2,632after 3 months
5,265after 6 months
10,530after 12 months
  • Visits a month 3,900
  • WiFi logins a month 1,170
  • New guests a month 877

The maths, with your numbers

visits a month = 150 x 6 x 52 / 12 = 3,900

WiFi logins = 3,900 x 30% = 1,170

new guests = 1,170 x (100% minus 25%) = 877

guest list after m months = new guests x m

An estimate from your inputs, not a VoqadoWiFi measurement or a promise. The return rate is held constant; in practice more logins come from known guests as the list grows, so later months are an upper bound. Only guests who tick the separate email box can be sent marketing. 52 / 12 = 4.33 weeks a month.

Plans, by logins a month: Starter includes 25, free; Growth includes 3,000. At about 1,170 a month, Growth covers you. Guests keep getting online over an allowance; the venue is told.

Your inputs, the 3, 6 and 12 month figures and the assumptions behind them, sent once.

How the estimate works

Visits a month are your daily visitors times the days you open each week, times 52 weeks divided by 12 months. WiFi logins are that times your portal conversion. New guests are logins minus the share that come from guests already on your list. The list is new guests a month times the number of months. Every input is yours; the two percentages are labelled as assumptions because they are.

Questions

What portal conversion should I use?
Your own, if you have it: WiFi logins divided by visitors over the same week. If you do not, try a low and a high figure and compare the two results. The 30% default is a starting assumption for you to change, not a VoqadoWiFi measurement.
Why is the later part of the estimate an upper bound?
The calculator holds the return rate constant. In practice, the longer a list runs, the more logins come from guests who are already on it, so growth slows. Treat months 6 to 12 as a ceiling.
Can I email everyone on the list?
No. The list counts guests who logged in. Only guests who ticked the separate, unticked email box can be sent marketing. Accepting the WiFi terms is not marketing consent.
Which plan fits my numbers?
Starter is free forever for one location and 25 guest logins a month. Growth is $49 a month for 3,000 logins across three locations. Guests keep getting online if a venue goes over its allowance; the venue is told.
