Score a social WiFi vendor demo

Use the same guest journey and evidence requests when comparing WiFi marketing providers.

First, the useful part

Start with the decision.

A polished presentation can hide unanswered questions. A demo scorecard keeps the evaluation tied to your venue’s needs and separates a feature shown live from a feature described on a slide. It is a buyer’s worksheet, not a ranking of vendors.

Put it into practice

Three moves to make.

  1. Set your scenario

Describe your controller arrangement, venue count, expected volume and staff responsibilities. Use the same fictional guest journey in each demonstration.

  2. Ask to see the task

Request the relevant welcome, contact preference, reporting view and support path. Mark each requirement as demonstrated, documented, unanswered or not available.

  3. Record the dependency

Note plan restrictions, configuration needs and third-party services. Ask for current written confirmation where a capability affects the purchasing decision.

An illustrative example

What it could look like.

Instead of scoring “analytics” as yes or no, ask the presenter to show how one completed test login appears in a report and explain the counting rule. That produces a more useful comparison than a broad feature checklist.

Before the next move

The final check.

Review the scorecard against must-have requirements before considering cosmetic preferences. Keep unanswered items visible.

The detail that matters

Do not count a roadmap promise as a feature available for your launch.

Should every feature have equal weight?

No. Weight requirements according to the decisions and guest tasks your venue actually needs to support.
