A WiFi login that welcomes people in.

A WiFi login page, also called a captive portal or splash page, appears between joining a guest network and getting authorized internet access.

What happens at a WiFi login

A device joins the guest SSID, discovers the captive portal and loads the login page. After the guest completes the required steps, the network controller must authorize that device. A successful form submission and working internet access are separate checkpoints.

Make the login page easy to finish

Use a recognizable venue name, legible text, a short form and a clear connect button. Explain your terms and data use before submission. Ask separately for optional marketing permission and never infer it from joining the WiFi alone.

When the login page does not appear

First confirm the exact guest network name. Compare with a second venue-owned device that does not have an active session. Record whether the portal is missing, blank, failing on submit or completing without internet access. Use the diagnostic worksheet to give your administrator reproducible evidence.

When a guest has logged in but cannot browse

The form may have completed while controller authorization, DNS or internet routing failed. Check the session in the controller and follow the hardware-specific diagnostic guide. Avoid changing the entire live network as the first troubleshooting step.

Build your own branded guest login

Check Omada or UniFi compatibility, create a VoqadoWiFi account and configure a test location inside the app. Obtain the real portal URL there. Test a pilot SSID before moving existing guests to the new experience.

Common questions

How do I open a guest WiFi login page?

Join the correct guest network and look for the device’s sign-in prompt or network sign-in action. If it does not appear, compare a second unauthenticated device and follow the troubleshooting guide below.

Does the WiFi symbol mean I am online?

No. It can indicate association with an access point while captive portal authorization or internet access is still pending.

Do guests need a social media account?

Not necessarily. Login methods depend on the portal configuration. A venue can use an email-based flow; do not promise a specific social provider without checking the current configuration.
