Beambox alternatives: what to look at, and when Beambox is the better buy
Beambox is a polished guest WiFi marketing product with plans from $40 a month billed yearly. Venues look elsewhere for a few reasons that show on its own pricing page. Here are the alternatives, each checked against its own page, including staying put.
Why venues look beyond Beambox
From Beambox’s own pages, read October 7, 2026:
- Plans are priced "per month, billed yearly": $40 Essential, $60 Growth, $80 Pro.
- The Plug & Play Beambox device must be returned when you cancel.
- Pro lists "Deflect negative reviews" and "Push positive reviews to TripAdvisor, Google and Facebook". Some venues want a review flow that treats every guest alike.
The options side by side
| Option | Pricing model | Free tier | Hardware and vendors | Consent | Review requests | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stay on Beambox | Per venue tiers billed yearly, rolling subscriptions | 30 day trial, then a paid plan; the first Plug & Play Beambox is included with the trial if your hardware is not supported | Cloud integrations with several network vendors, including Omada and UniFi, or a Plug & Play Beambox that must be returned on cancellation | States "You are the owner of your Beambox guest database"; no consent detail on the pricing page. | Pro lists "Review Automator", an "Automated email rating prompt", "Deflect negative reviews" and "Push positive reviews to TripAdvisor, Google and Facebook". | See the case for staying below |
| VoqadoWiFi (us) | Free Starter plan, then Growth at $49 a month for 3 locations and 5,000 guest logins. One flat price, not per location. | Starter is free forever, not a trial: 1 location, 500 guest logins a month, branded login, guest email capture and CSV export. No card, no ads shown to guests. | Exactly two: TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi. Nothing else works. | WiFi terms acceptance is never treated as marketing consent. On the explicit consent form (the default for new venues; owners switch it on for existing ones) the email box is separate and starts unticked, and each choice is stored with the exact wording shown and the time. | Never gated. Every guest who gave email consent gets the same public review link, 3 hours after connecting by default, and never between 21:00 and 09:00 venue time; a private note to the venue is offered in addition, never instead. | Venues on Omada or UniFi that want to keep their hardware |
| Spotipo | Per location, monthly or annual, with a monthly unique guest limit | 14 day full access trial, no credit card required | Nine router brands named on the pricing page, "+20 more"; "Works with your existing router. No hardware changes." | "GDPR-compliant consent built in" is listed on Starter. | No review request feature is described on the pricing page. | Venues on other routers, paid monthly |
| CaptiFi | Per site tiers by new guests a month, monthly or annual, hardware on a refundable deposit | 30 day free trial; a payment method is needed to start it, and hardware carries a £60 refundable deposit | Its own WiFi device on a refundable deposit, or your own WiFi; the page names nine compatible network platforms | "GDPR contact capture" from Essentials up. | "Automated review requests" from Essentials up; no screening is described. | Venues that want hardware included and review requests |
| GoZone WiFi | Free with ads, then per month plans that each include one AP license | Free forever: The plans page marks the free tier "* Ads-based login", so guests see advertising on the way in. Automated email campaigns start on Essentials at $39 a month. | "Works with compatible WiFi equipment or we will supply for an additional charge"; configuration guides for a long list of hardware brands | No consent wording found on the plans page. | No review request feature is described on the plans page; paid tiers include a survey builder and a form builder that can "Receive feedback and reviews". | Venues that want to pay nothing and accept ads |
| The portal built into your controller | Included with the controller | Free, no list kept | Whatever your controller supports | Terms acceptance only | None | Venues that only need a terms page |

The case for staying on Beambox
Stay on Beambox if you use its SMS (250 free sends a month on Pro), its API, its Zapier and Mailchimp integrations, or its Plug & Play device because your network is not supported elsewhere. Subscriptions are rolling and switching has a real cost, so only move for a reason that matters to you.
Each option, with its catch
VoqadoWiFi
Why consider it. A free plan that captures guest emails with consent (1 location, 500 logins a month, no card), Growth at $49 a month for three locations, and review requests that show every guest the same public link.
The catch. Works only with TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi. No SMS, no paid WiFi, no POS or PMS integration, no white label. Campaign sending is being switched on account by account.
Spotipo
Why consider it. Monthly or annual per location pricing from $59, a no card 14 day trial and wide router support. Pro sells timed WiFi access through Stripe.
The catch. No review requests described on the pricing page; three venues cost three location fees.
CaptiFi
Why consider it. "Automated review requests" from Essentials, hardware on a refundable deposit, and a Lite tier at £19.99 a month as our check was served.
The catch. The trial needs a payment method, and hardware carries a deposit.
GoZone WiFi
Why consider it. A free forever plan with email login and no access point limit, and a touchless menu builder.
The catch. The free plan shows ads at login; campaigns start on Essentials at $39 a month.
The portal built into your controller
Why consider it. The captive portal inside your Omada or UniFi controller costs nothing and is already installed. It can show terms, take a password or issue vouchers.
The catch. It keeps no guest list you can market to and sends nothing after the visit. Right if you only want a terms page; wrong if you want to bring guests back.
Before you leave Beambox, export these
- Your guest database as CSV; Beambox’s page says you own it.
- Consent records with each guest: wording and date.
- Any review and rating history you want to keep.
- Arrange the return of a Plug & Play device before you cancel.
Consent records matter most. A list of emails without the wording and date each guest agreed to is a list you should not email. Our guide to guest WiFi and privacy rules explains why.
