Measure honestly / Note 30
Design a useful monthly WiFi scorecard
A concise scorecard that puts guest experience, list quality and follow-up activity in the same conversation.

Start with the decision.
A monthly report should help a venue decide what to do next. Limit the scorecard to measures with clear definitions and an accountable owner. A missing measure is more honest than an attractive number with no reliable source.
Three moves to make.
Choose the decisions
Identify the operational and marketing questions the report must answer. Separate connection reliability from contact growth and campaign response.
Attach definitions
Give each measure a source, window and counting rule. Include the relevant raw counts and mark estimates visibly.
Add an action column
For each material change, record what will be checked or changed and by whom. If no decision follows, reconsider whether the measure belongs on the scorecard.
What it could look like.
A compact scorecard might include completed logins, documented support issues, permissioned contacts added and one campaign outcome. It should not claim to measure total venue attendance unless there is a separate trustworthy source.
Make the idea concrete.
Use these five prompts with your team. The downloadable text worksheet includes the prompts, practical steps and review check. Save it, edit it or print it.

- Comparison limitationsRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
- Action and ownerRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
The final check.
Review the scorecard with operations and marketing together. Agree which changes are meaningful enough to investigate.
Do not crowd the report with percentages that hide very small counts.
How many measures should a monthly scorecard contain?
Use only enough to support the decisions at hand. A small set of well-defined measures is easier to act on than a large unqualified dashboard.
