Plan your WiFi marketing exit questions
Understand exports, access and cancellation before you commit to a provider.

Start with the decision.
An exit checklist is part of a sound buying decision. It identifies what the venue needs to retain and what happens when a service ends. Ask the provider for current terms and processes; do not infer them from a competitor’s review.
Three moves to make.
List what matters
Identify the records, configuration information and reporting history your team needs. Distinguish contact data from permission records and suppression preferences.
Request the process
Ask about export formats, timing, account access and any relevant charges. Have the authorized owner confirm the cancellation route and notice requirements.
Test a sample
Where available, review a small approved export and its field definitions. Confirm that the destination system can interpret it without silently losing important context.
What it could look like.
An address-only export may be insufficient for a campaign migration if it omits the status that determines whether the contact should receive marketing. Ask what accompanies the address and how the destination will preserve those choices.
Make the idea concrete.
Use these five prompts with your team. The downloadable text worksheet includes the prompts, practical steps and review check. Save it, edit it or print it.

The final check.
Keep the provider’s response with the purchase decision and review it before renewal or migration.
Do not assume an export authorizes reuse of every record for every purpose.
Should I wait until cancellation to test export?
Review export capability before purchase where possible. A small sample can reveal missing fields before the venue depends on the service.
