VoqadoWiFi and Purple both have a free tier. They are free for different things.
Purple describes itself on its pricing page as "Trusted by enterprises in 90+ countries", and now publishes a free Connect tier. VoqadoWiFi is a small platform for venues on Omada or UniFi. The useful comparison is not size: it is what each free tier lets you keep, and what you pay when you need more.
VoqadoWiFi and Purple, row by row
| VoqadoWiFi | Purple | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Free Starter plan, then Growth at $49 a month for 3 locations and 5,000 guest logins. One flat price, not per location. | Connect is free. Capture and Engage show no price; the page says "Speak to an expert". Staff WiFi and xPSK are custom enterprise quotes. |
| Free tier, in their own terms | Starter is free forever, not a trial: 1 location, 500 guest logins a month, branded login, guest email capture and CSV export. No card, no ads shown to guests. | Connect is free with no stated expiry: secure captive portal, branded splash pages, 25 supported languages, network analytics. First party data capture, CRM integration and email verification are listed as what Capture adds. A 30 day trial covers Capture and Engage. |
| Hardware | None supplied and none to return. Runs on the Omada or UniFi controller you already have. | None supplied; the pricing page calls Purple "hardware agnostic". |
| Network vendors supported | Exactly two: TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi. Nothing else works. | 25 hardware integrations listed on its integrations page. |
| Consent handling | WiFi terms acceptance is never treated as marketing consent. On the explicit consent form (the default for new venues; owners switch it on for existing ones) the email box is separate and starts unticked, and each choice is stored with the exact wording shown and the time. | Connect lists "Compliance with major data laws"; the plan table cites CCPA/CPRA and major privacy regulations. |
| Review requests | Never gated. Every guest who gave email consent gets the same public review link, 3 hours after connecting by default, and never between 21:00 and 09:00 venue time; a private note to the venue is offered in addition, never instead. | No review request feature is described on the pricing page. |
| Choose it when | You run Omada or UniFi, want a published price, and want guest emails and review requests without a sales call. | Your access points are not Omada or UniFi, you run many sites, or you need staff WiFi, Passpoint or multi tenant networks. |

Where Purple is the better choice
- Hardware reach. Purple lists 25 hardware integrations. VoqadoWiFi works with two. If your access points are from any other vendor, this is not a close call.
- Beyond guest WiFi. Staff WiFi with Cloud RADIUS and directory sync, Passpoint and multi tenant xPSK networks sit on the same platform. VoqadoWiFi does guest login and follow up only.
- Languages. Connect lists 25 supported languages on the splash page. VoqadoWiFi lets you rename the field labels and write your own wording, but does not translate the login for you.
- Scale and service. Engage adds managed services and turnkey deployment for enterprises. If you want a vendor to run the rollout across dozens of sites, Purple is built for that.
- Analytics on the free tier. Connect includes network analytics, speed and coverage monitoring without paying.
Where VoqadoWiFi is the better fit
- You want the guest list on the free plan. Starter captures guest emails with consent and exports them as CSV. Purple lists data capture as part of Capture.
- You want to see the price before you talk to anyone. Growth is $49 a month for three locations and 5,000 logins, on the pricing page. Capture and Engage are quoted.
- You want review requests built in. Every consenting guest gets the same public review link 3 hours after connecting by default, and never between 21:00 and 09:00 venue time, with a private note offered alongside, never instead.
- You already own Omada or UniFi and want to keep it. Nothing to install at the venue beyond the controller settings.
What the free Connect tier is for
Purple describes Connect as "Best for: single venues getting started with WiFi analytics". That is an honest description and worth taking at face value. Connect gets guests online through a branded portal and tells you how the network is used. It is a good free tier if your question is about the WiFi itself: how many people connect, when, and whether coverage holds up.
If your question is about the guests, who they are and how to bring them back, the free tier is not where Purple puts that. Contact capture, CRM integration and email verification are what Capture adds, and Capture’s price is not on the page. That is a fair commercial choice. It just means the two free tiers answer different questions.
Paying for the next step
On Purple, the next step after Connect is a conversation: Capture and Engage show "Speak to an expert" instead of a figure, and there is a 30 day trial of both. We have not seen Purple’s quotes and will not guess at them. Some third party sites publish numbers; they are not on Purple’s page, so they are not on ours.
On VoqadoWiFi, the next step is Growth at $49 a month for three locations and 5,000 guest logins, with campaigns, Mailchimp sync and guest profiles. Above three venues, Enterprise is a quote. A group with one or two venues on Omada or UniFi can know its cost on day one.
Consent and reviews, side by side
Both platforms say they help you stay inside data protection law. On VoqadoWiFi you can see how: on the explicit consent form, the default for new venues and switched on by owners for existing ones, the WiFi terms box and the marketing box are separate, the marketing box starts unticked, and each choice is stored with the exact wording the guest saw and the time. Guests can stop messages from one venue with one tap from any email.
Purple’s pricing page does not describe a review request feature. VoqadoWiFi sends one by default to guests who opted in, and it never filters by rating: the same public link reaches everyone. If reviews matter to you, ask Purple how their journeys handle them before you assume either way.
Decide in four questions
- Are your access points TP-Link Omada or Ubiquiti UniFi? If not, look at Purple or another platform; VoqadoWiFi will not work.
- Do you need staff WiFi, Passpoint or tenant networks? Purple.
- Do you want to keep guest emails without paying? VoqadoWiFi Starter, within 500 logins a month.
- Do you need a published price for three venues? VoqadoWiFi Growth is $49 a month.
