Launch well / Note 05
Build a useful WiFi support evidence pack
Collect the few details that help a support team reproduce a guest connection issue without sharing a guest database.

Start with the decision.
“The WiFi is broken” can mean several different failures. A useful report says where the journey stopped, when it happened and whether another device behaved differently. Start with observations; avoid guessing at the cause.
Three moves to make.
Locate the failure
Choose the stage: network missing, welcome missing, form rejected, login completed without browsing, or later reconnect problem. Include the exact visible error if there is one.
Record the comparison
Try the same approved test on another venue-owned device and note the result. Describe the location and approximate time so the operator can compare the right events.
Remove unrelated data
Crop screenshots to the relevant interface and redact guest details, secrets and unrelated tabs before sharing through the approved support channel.
What it could look like.
A useful report says: “At 14:10 near reception, our test phone joined the guest network but did not show the welcome. A second test phone displayed it. Screenshot attached; no guest details included.” This is more actionable than sending an entire contact export.
Make the idea concrete.
Use these five prompts with your team. The downloadable text worksheet includes the prompts, practical steps and review check. Save it, edit it or print it.
- Time and time zoneRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
- Venue and guest networkRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
- Journey stageRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
- Device comparisonRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
- Redacted evidenceRecord your decision and the evidence behind it.
The final check.
Ask whether the recipient could repeat your steps. If not, add the missing action rather than more screenshots. Keep the report linked to its resolution.
Do not paste passwords, session tokens or controller secrets into a general support description.
Should I send a guest email address to diagnose WiFi?
Start with a test device and non-personal observations. If support needs a specific identifier, use its approved secure process and share only what is necessary.
